VISA INFORMATIONS

Update (2025): Starting April 10, 2025, passport holders from Australia, Canada, and the United States must obtain a visa (e-Visa available) to enter Brazil for tourism or business. Applications should be submitted via the official e-Visa portal. Please verify requirements before traveling, as policies may change.

Unless otherwise noted, citizens of the countries listed below are visa-exempt for tourism or business for stays of up to 90 days (per immigration control), subject to reciprocity and purpose of travel.

Notes: “Tourism only” means exemption applies exclusively to tourism. “Entrance allowed by presenting Civil ID” applies to Mercosur/associated countries as indicated. Some nationalities have shorter visa-free stays (e.g., 60 or 30 days).

Important exceptions and reminders

  • United States, Canada, Australia: visa required from 10 Apr 2025 (e-Visa available).
  • Venezuela: visa-free stay up to 60 days per 12 months (tourism).
  • Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Singapore: visa-free tourism up to 30 days within one year.
  • EU nationals (visa-exempt): typical allowance is 90 days in any 180-day period (tourism/business), per bilateral practice; always confirm specific country rules.

For citizens of countries not listed above, or when traveling for purposes other than tourism/business (e.g., study, work, media), please consult the Brazilian consulate/embassy in your country for the appropriate visa category and requirements.
